How the World Would be a Better Place if I Was in Charge

All drinking glasses would be stored top down. As they should be so the inside of glasses don’t collect schmutz.

Pets could be counted as dependents on taxes. The freeloaders.

Staying up all night reading a good book would be a legitimate reason to take work off the next day.

People would not be allowed to hover right at the edge of the luggage carousel. They would have to wait about 5 feet back so everyone could see and step forward to pic up their luggage when it comes around.

The Walking Dead wouldn’t be shown so late on Sunday, a school night, that I have to wait to see it the next day. I hate spoilers.

News agencies would check the sources of their stories and the backgrounds of their talking heads. No more people presented as experts when they have no background or education in the subject. No more studies presented when the people who conducted the study will financially benefit from the results. That’s called a conflict of interest and should be treated as not credible.

No one will be famous just for having a great rack or butt. No. Just no.

All high schools would include basic personal finance, (banking, checking accounts, credit cards) and basic auto care in its required curriculum.

Dog food companies will start selling 40 lb bags of dog food again instead of sneakily reducing the food to only 28 pounds in the same size bag. I NOTICED DOG FOOD COMPANIES! Your prices did not go down but you give us about half the dog food we got before.

It gets even worse when one of the dogs won’t eat the life source bits.

Bad bosses would lose their jobs.

Any movie exec that suggested an actress needs to lose weight or get plastic surgery to work should lose their job. Actresses just need to act well. The end.

There is no chatting in public restrooms. Everyone should just go in, take care of business and leave. Let’s pretend we aren’t doing what we are doing about a foot away from each other.

People who cut in lines should get a ticket or something. That just isn’t right.

And finally, the world would be a better place if I was in charge because I would make it so we could all take our pets to work with us.

The kitties could get tricky.

I would vote for you. Ruler for life.

King of the World has a nice ring!

I would vote for you too! hahaha. Good writing!

Side note, I have big dogs like yours, they really do better if you elevate their food bowl. Ikea has little plastic kids step stool that works great. Or just a box, or some stacked books. (of course they make fancy ones you can buy too…)

Keep up the great fun stories!

Thanks Kathy! I usually do elevate the food bowl. Not only for the bigger dog, but when I’ve had older dogs. It never fails though, the big dogs grab the food bowl meant for the little guy who can’t reach the elevated bowls. I swear they do that on purpose. Especially Godiva aka La Diva, the one pictured here.

When is the election?! I’m definitely voting for you 🙂

I have often thought the world would be a better place if I was the Supreme Goddess of the Universe (I should trademark that title!) Perhaps we will have to rule harmoniously together, because I support every one of your platforms (except maybe the one about dog food – but that is only because I don’t have a dog – so I’ll take your word for it that the dog food companies are ripping us off. God knows they have been doing the same thing with ice cream for YEARS! (not the dog food people, obviously….or maybe it IS the dog food people, it seems like corporations have their fingers in a lot of different pies).

PS – just found your site today and spent the whole afternoon reading every post (I’m sure my boss will have no problem with that). We are big DIY remodelers (just starting on OUR laundry room – but only after the new carpet in the living room is installed), so it was fun to follow your progress.

Welcome! You have surely realized by now that I’m not going to be a resource for how to do something. Mostly I’ll show you how NOT to do something!

You have been reading my mind – and the TP is to go over the top, much easier to ‘paw’ it in and emergency. BTW they have been doing the dog food thing to the cats too – 4 cats, 2 dogs n a new mantra: Dust, gives the home that warm fuzzy feeling – too busy picking up fur from furniture and floors to dust the few uncovered table tops/shelves, I let the cats do that dusting

Talk to me!
